Internationally, she has been awarded five honorary doctorates and two prestigious Distinguished Scholar Awards from her respective alum universities. These were given in recognition for her prolific scholarship, her courageous and visionary leadership in theological education, her relentless advocacy for women’s leadership within the church, and her unflagging commitment to the pursuit of peace with justice for oppressed minorities and indigenous peoples throughout the world.
