The Reverend Norma Guerra

The Rev. Norma Guerra is a life-long Episcopalian born in the city of Guatemala. Norma received a Diploma in Theology from Bloy House, The Episcopal Theological School at Claremont, where she received the Highest Academic Achievement Award and the Excellence in Preaching Award. She graduated with a Master of Divinity from EDS, where she received the Allison Cheek Prize in Feminist Liberation Theologies. Norma was ordained to the diaconate in June 2016 and to the Priesthood in January 2017.

Norma has served as Associate for Formation and Transition Ministry at the Diocese of Los Angeles since December 1, 2020. In the last few years, Norma participated as a presenter at the Episcopal Latino Ministry Competency Program, she was part of the Council of Advice of the Latino Ministry. She has served for the last five years as a member of the Board of Directors of CRISTOSAL, a non-profit organization. She has served on different committees in Guatemala as in California.

Norma is passionate about multiculturalism, diversity and inclusivity. She has also served as interpreter and translator for both the local and national church. Norma has a twenty-year-old son, Nicholas, and a cat, Trixie.
