Alum Spotlight: The Rev. Sandi Albom '14, '17

December 1, 2024

The Rev. Sandi Albom is a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts, serving as Priest-in-Charge at the Episcopal Church of the Atonement in Westfield. Sandi identifies as a person in long-term recovery from addiction. She has served as co-convener of the Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire and is the president-elect of the Board of Directors of The Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Church. Rev. Sandi has also served as the chaplain and spiritual director at The Plymouth House residential recovery center in Plymouth, NH and is a seasoned retreat leader.

In October of 2024, Sandi began a ministry at her current church, Recovery Bridge Fellowship. “Recovery Bridge” offers those in recovery and the “recovery curious” a bridge toward deeper relationship with God through worship, healing, and sharing of experience, strength, hope and the occasional Dinner Church.

Sandi came to EDS after a long career as an RN and corporate healthcare consultant. “I entered EDS in fall of 2013 as a certificate student with the intention of taking a year off from my career," she shares. "It wasn’t long before I was captured by the Spirit and led toward the priesthood, a path that, in reality, had started long before. My time at EDS awakened for me a desire to combine parish ministry with my spiritual grounding in the recovery community. EDS gave me the inspiration and the practical ministry tools to experiment with ministry in multiple ways - serving the recovery communities in our church basements and bringing recovery spirituality and practices to the ‘upstairs church,’ broadening the understanding of addiction as a shared human experience.”

Sandi and her husband Bob and their two feline overlords, Mandy and Quinn, reside in Windsor Locks, CT.
